Weekly recaps help me stay accountable, see weekly progress, set small goals, and check in with the world. I like seeing how others are doing- the good, the not-so-good. I think as runners we have so much we can learn from each other. I’m Linking Up With the Jess’s- jessrunsatl.com and therightfits.com -check them out for other weekly recaps!

This was Marine Corps Marathon week and all of DC was on running fever!

Wednesday: Physical therapy.

Thursday: Kettlebell class.

Friday: Physical therapy. It hurts but I know it’s working. I’m getting slightly stronger.

Saturday: 12 miles in 2:32:05. I did 10 miles of completely interval running with two of my ARRC girls. It was great to catch up at a slower pace since I don’t regularly run with them. It was a beautiful morning- crisp, cool, clear. I ran the final 2 miles by myself, with longer running intervals. The major win of the run? No pain! This definitely affirms that I’ll be doing more interval running at the Richmond Marathon.

Sunday: I cheered for the Marine Corps Marathon just past mile 20 and right before mile 21 with a group of ARRC folks and Oiselle team members. It was fun to see friends and encourage strangers! I hopped in to run some miles with my friend Lauren, about 6. We trained together for her first marathon (and my 2nd half marathon) over the winter of 2010, so it was great to be there for her 2nd marathon this weekend! It was a slow (hello final 10k of a marathon) but I didn’t have any pain, and I was able to be there for a friend when she needed it. Fall is definitely here!img_4578
