Raise your hand if you remember reading this book by Dr. Seuss as a kid? How many of you were given a copy of it for your high school or college graduation? For me, it encourages bravery, intentionality, dreaming and doing.

One of my life goals is to go to all 50 US states. I have a couple of rules for this goal. 1. I can count the span of my entire life. 2. Airport layovers or trips where I never got out of the car don’t count. 3. It’s ok to go back to states multiple times.

Here is a map of where in the US I’ve been (in blue).

So what’s left?

  • Rhode Island
  • Vermont
  • Kentucky
  • Tennessee
  • Mississippi
  • Arkansas
  • Oklahoma
  • Nebraska
  • North Dakota
  • Montana
  • Idaho
  • Alaska

12 more states! I feel like I should give Indiana, New Hampshire and Alabama a second shot since I spent such a tiny amount of time in those places. So, that makes it 15 I suppose. Time to start dreaming for 2017-2018 trips!

Any recommendations for the states I haven’t been to yet? What’s on your US travel list?
